ETL: CountryNameFromIP

Look up and return the country name for an IPv4 address in dot-decimal notation. Use COUNTRYNAMEFROMIP for geolocation in ETL data pipelines.

Description

Extracts the country name from a given IPv4 string (dot-decimal notation).

Syntax

CountryNameFromIP(ipaddress)

Examples

CountryNameFromIP('128.193.8.81') returns ‘United States’

Notes

The function uses GeoLite2 data created by MaxMind, available from http://www.maxmind.com.
