# ETL: Log Drains Overview

> Send Integrate.io ETL job execution logs to your own observability platform over OpenTelemetry, so failures surface in the tool your team already watches.

A log drain delivers a job's execution log to your own observability platform as soon as the job finishes, over [OpenTelemetry](https://opentelemetry.io/docs/specs/otlp/) (OTLP/HTTP). Where [alerts](/docs/etl/category/alerts-and-monitoring) tell you that a job failed, a log drain delivers the log itself.
